Background:
Caitlyn is the founder of Ascend.ai and is passionate about helping people transition from industry jobs to tech companies and unlocking the potential in talented professionals. Her expertise lies in the AI/machine learning startup space. When we worked together, she was the founding sales team member at copy.ai and was looking for help navigating sales in a PLG environment.
What challenges were you facing when we met?
I was the founding sales team member tasked with building out the sales org at copy.ai. I had no experience doing this and as the sole sales person at my company, I realized I needed advice from someone further down in their career that can see big picture and help give context.
Did you evaluate other alternatives?
Nope! I just didn't know I needed a mentor until I heard you speak. I heard you speak at the Pocus AMA about sales, and the topics you spoke about were the exact topics I was struggling with at Copy.
What did we work on together?
It would be a short novel, but off the top of my head - how to figure out the problem and how to get to the answer more quickly, navigating tough conversations, and explaining other perspectives to me teach me how to see other perspectives.
What was the experience like?
I was able to unburden myself from intrusive thoughts and gain a deeper understanding for how people impact experience.
Any major results?
I am more confident, with optimized efficiency, more introspective, and increased perspectives. I now have the ability to understand what I should be prioritizing and spending my time on.
Any message to someone on the fence about working with Andrew?
DO IT. Andrew has a remarkable talent for acknowledging and validating emotions while also challenging negative thought patterns. Through his guidance, I have developed a greater capacity to empathize with others and recognize my own potential. These two qualities are critical for achieving success in the future, and Andrew has been instrumental in helping me unlock them.
